Visit to Iran
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva were on a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, January 24-26, 2005.
On January 24, President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva were greeted at Mehrabad Airport of Tehran by high-ranking state and government officials of Iran.
Meeting with Iranian President’s spouse Zahra Sadegi Khatami
On January 24, Mehriban Aliyeva met with Mrs Zahra Sadegi Khatami, the spouse of the Iranian President Seid Muhammad Khatami.
Visit to the Jewellery Museum under the Central Bank of Iran
On January 24, Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Jewellery Museum under the Central Bank of Iran. The First Lady wrote her heartfelt words in the guests’ book of the museum.
Visit to a carpet museum in Tehran
On January 24, Mehriban Aliyeva visited a carpet museum in Tehran. Mehriban Aliyeva was informed of the handicrafts being preserved at the museum.
The First Lady watched the carpet weaving process here, and viewed the exhibition of miniature art and other exhibits being displayed at the museum.
Meeting with daughter of the chairperson of the Advisory Council of Iran Fatima Rafsanjani
On January 25, Mehriban Aliyeva received Fatima Rafsanjani, the daughter of former Iranian President, current chairperson of the Advisory Council of Iran Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
Visit to the palace of Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi
On January 25, Mehriban Aliyeva visited the palace of last Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. The First Lady viewed household items and jewellery displayed in the rooms of the Palace.
Visit to the Special Diseases Centre
On January 25, Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Special Diseases Centre.
Mehriban Aliyeva talked about the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s program aiming to support children suffering from diabetes, and said works are been carried out on the program providing assistance to children suffering from thalassemia.
Mrs Fatima Rafsanjani said the foundation headed by her was ready to cooperate with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Mehriban Aliyeva expressed her gratitude for seeing the centre, and wished every success to the staff of the healthcare institution.
Visit to the city of Tabriz
On January 26, President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva visited the city of Tabriz. The President and his spouse were greeted by Governor-general of the Eastern Azerbaijan Province Mahammadali Subhanullahi and other officials.
Visit to Tabriz Tractor Factory
On January 26, President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Tabriz Tractor Factory, one of the largest industrial companies of Iran.
The Head of State and his spouse got acquainted with production processes in workshops of the factory, and viewed equipment and mechanisms being manufactured here.
Dinner in honour of President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva
On January 26, a dinner was given in honour of President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva at “El Golu” Hotel of Tabriz, on behalf of Governor-general of the Eastern Azerbaijani Province Mahammadali Subhanullahi.
