On September 19, 2016, Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva was on a visit to France.

Official opening of the Village d’Azerbaijan in Paris

On September 19, official opening of Village d’Azerbaijan took place on the Joffre Square, near the Eiffel Tower in Paris, with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony.

Public and political figures of France too attended the ceremony.

Rashida Datı, mayor of the 7th Arrondissement of Paris, where Village d’Azerbaijan was opened, President of the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan in France Jean-Francois Mansell, and well-known photographer living in France Peter Lippmann delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Mehriban Aliyeva wrote her heartfelt words in the Guests Book of the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan in France.

Then a banquet was arranged on behalf of Mehriban Aliyeva in honour of the attendees of the event. Addressing the event, Mehriban Aliyeva said she was delighted in meeting them in Paris again. She noted that opening of a village of Azerbaijan in the French capital will contribute to strengthening the relations between Azerbaijan and France further.

The village functioned from 17 to 25th September.
