Concert of Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra conducted by prominent musician Mstislav Rostropovich held in Baku
07.03.2005On March 7, the Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra after Uzeyir Hajibayov gave a concert in Baku conducted by the world-known musician Maestro Mstislav Rostropovich.
The audience cheered President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva.
The Orchestra performed Leonard Bernstine`s work "Glory" devoted to outstanding violinist.
Then with participation of soloist, laureate of international contests Sergey Krilov (violin) "Concert for violin and orchestra" (in three parts) and "Symphony #4" of Pyotr Tchaikovsky were sounded. Successfully passed concert was welcomed for many times by loud applauses.
Maestro Mstislav Rostropovich congratulated the women of Azerbaijan on the International Women Day and honored them by performance of symphony "Tea for two" by Dmitry Shostakovich.
