President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva participate in the ceremony of signing a new Agreement on “Azeri”, “Chirag” and “Guneshli” oilfields

On September 14, a ceremony of signing a new production sharing Agreement - amended and redrafted - on joint development of “Azeri”, “Chirag” fields and the deep portion of “Guneshli” field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center, Baku.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony.

The Head of the State addressed the ceremony.

Then, Turkey’s Energy and Natural Resources Minister Beret Albayrak read a congratulation letter from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

A congratulation letter from the Great Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May was read by the United Kingdom’s state minister Alan Duncan.

Georgian Energy Minister Elia Eloshvili read a congratulation letter from Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.

Then, deputy Foreign Minister of Japan Manabu Hori and BP’s General Executive Director Robert Dudley took the floor.

After the speeches, a documentary about successful implementation of the oil strategy in Azerbaijan, made by BP’s order, was shown.

Later, the new production sharing Agreement - amended and redrafted - on joint development of “Azeri”, “Chirag” fields and the deep portion of “Guneshli” field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea was signed with participation of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the heads of delegations.
