The 5th Global Baku Forum starts

On March 16, the 5th Global Baku Forum started on the theme “Future of International Relations: Power and Interests” in the Azerbaijani capital.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the Forum’s opening ceremony.

The Forum is also attended by Latvian President Raymonds Veyonis, Macedonian President Giorgi Ivanov, Albanian President Buyar Nishani, President of Montenegro Philip Vuyanovich, Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Saudi Arabian Prince, Chairperson of the Royal Research and Islamic Affairs Centre Turki al-Feisal.

First, a collective photo was taken.

The Forum was opened by director of Egypt’s Alexandrian Library, co-chairman of the Nizami Ganjavi International Centre Ismail Serageldin.

The Head of our State addressed the opening ceremony.

Then, co-chairperson of the Nizami Ganjavi International Centre, Latvia’s former President Vaira-Vike Freiberga took the floor.

Italian ambassador to Azerbaijan Giampaolo Cutillo read the appeal by President Sergio Mattarella, and charge d'affaires of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland United Kingdom to Azerbaijan Stephen McCormick read the appeal by his country’s Prime Minister Mrs Theresa May.

Summing up the opening ceremony, director of Egypt’s Alexandrian Library, co-chairman of the Nizami Ganjavi International Centre Ismail Serageldin thanked President Ilham Aliyev for his participation in the Forum.

To last for two days, this reputable event is attended by some 300 representatives from 53 countries, including very influential state figures who have been playing a significant part in directing the modern world’s politics and assessing a number of regional processes, as well as politicians, people of science, and political experts. The Forum is of significance in terms of promoting the realities of Azerbaijan, and winning new friends to our country, and building lobbying activity. The Global Baku Forum is a very significant and convenient platform in conveying the true facts about our country to the world society.
