President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva pay a visit to the monument to eminent Azerbaijani poetess Khurshidbanu Natavan in Belgium

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva paid a visit to the monument to eminent Azerbaijani poetess Khurshidbanu Natavan in Waterloo city of the Kingdom of Belgium, February 5.

Mayor of the city of Waterloo Florian Reuter greeted Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva.

The Head of our State and his spouse put flowers before the monument.

Erection of this monument, inaugurated on February 18^th last year, was made possible due to support from President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. Erected in a central park of the city, the monument has been made by sculptor Imran Mehdiyev, under the leadership of People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Tahir Salahov. There is information before the monument about Khurshidbanu Natavan’s being a Garabagh princess.
